The Fire Precautions Act requires all employers to carry out a fire risk assessment of their workplace to eliminate and reduce any possible fire hazards.
By law it is required that a member of staff be placed in charge of Health & Safety issues in the workplace including the servicing of all fire extinuguishers and alarms.

"What does the Act mean?"

By law you are required to have all fire extinguishing apparatus on site serviced annually.

"Why?"

fire extinguishersTo ensure that when used, they function efficiently in the event of a fire. The recharging of carbon dioxide extinguishers cannot be carried out on site. This must be done at one of our service centres. We also check safety pins, mounting of brackets, safety disc and valves for damage and operational serviceability.

Alarms

Sensors can gather dust and debris, batteries wear out. A regular maintenance check is required to ensure your system performs correctly in the event of an emergency.
